Sometimes eating healthy while working at home can be difficult. Abandoning your usual routine and having access to food all the time can lead to snacking more between meals or eating unhealthy foods, such as those with a high content of sugar or saturated fat.
In addition, the accumulation of stress derived from the hectic pace of everyday life can lead to the suffering of some anxiety symptoms that often translate into overeating. If you find it hard to resist the urge to go to the fridge constantly, here are some tips on how to eat healthy and not "abuse" unhealthy foods when working at home.
CREATE A FLEXIBLE PROGRAM
Schedules are often unpredictable, working from home and having to coordinate work, meetings, teach children homework and even do a quick workout. Prepare yourself during the day to eat regular and nutritious meals that feed your mind and body. A consistent routine will help to regulate insulin levels, blood sugar and digestive health. And without a set schedule, you are more likely to eat without thinking during the day or even skip a meal and overeat later.
TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE LOCATION WHERE YOU INSTALL YOUR WORKSPACE
Try to work in an area that is not too close to the kitchen. It may seem like a very simple detail, but keep in mind that it is more tempting to walk around and check the fridge or pantry the closer you are to them.
DRINK A LOT OF WATER
Make sure you have your water bottle with you while you work. Lack of water can cause dehydration, fatigue and low energy consumption. Feeling slow and tired can affect the way you work and also your performance, so stay well hydrated throughout the day.
MOVE DAILY
Try to exercise every day. This will allow you to stay in shape, healthy, positive, less stressed and also improve your mood. If you don't have time to go to the gym, online sessions are a great alternative! It will be remembered that the RM Trainer App allows you access to all your virtual classes, in addition to the training that you can also do with your Personal Trainer, or also in person at home.
PREPARE MEALS THE DAY BEFORE
One of the advantages of working at home is that you will have the freedom to prepare the food you want. However, this advantage can become a disadvantage if you have a craving for "junk" or unhealthy food. The key here is to prepare meals the day before, as you would when you went to work physically. You'll have the job done, eliminate one more concern from the list and be able to concentrate on your daily tasks.
FOCUS YOUR DIET ON NUTRITIOUS FOODS
Make sure that your meals contain vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, proteins and carbohydrates. For example, instead of eating ready-made snacks, you can easily prepare them yourself with some creativity. Eating a balanced diet with a focus on nutritious foods will help you feel more satisfied for longer and be more productive throughout the day.
So, it is quite possible to stay in good physical shape and healthy. It's all about mindset, get organized! Don't forget that you can always count on RM Trainer to help you achieve your goals ...
