July 14, 2020In high-intensity training, you need to master your mind to control your body. Your brain will ask you to give up or slow down, as it knows you like no one and is great at making good excuses to keep us in the comfort zone. But you will have to answer, doing the exact opposite, not stopping and accelerating further.

This type of training has been used since the 1980s in combat sports and elite troops as one of the best ways to enhance their performance.
In recent years, this methodology has also been adapted to various gym modalities allowing all common practitioners to access the benefits of this training.
In fact, this is a training methodology widely used at RM Trainer when it is justified so that its customers achieve the desired results.
However, according to Dr. Alexandre Machado, in a MH article, it is not enough to just learn the exercises and routines. It will also be necessary to dominate the mind when pain (caused by the presence of lactic acid) and physical exhaustion provoke the brain and constantly put it to the test.
In order to have effective results it will be important to first master all your “ghosts” and internal fears as this is the only way you will be able to do one more repetition or do that extra minute.
But how can we then learn to master the mind? Here are some tips:
- DO NOT COMPARE WITH OTHERS, each one has its own pace and individuality;
- SET REALISTIC OBJECTIVES, divide your big goal into smaller (secondary) goals to challenge yourself and overcome avoiding frustrations;
- ACCEPT THAT YOU WILL FEEL PAIN AND DISCOMFORT IN TRAINING, these aspects are inherent to this type of training and fundamental to make you stronger mentally;
- FOCUS ON TRAINING, forget everything else except training, exercise and that series of repetitions you have to do;
- ALWAYS BELIEVE YOU WILL BE ABLE, never accept less than the best of yourself.
For some, these tasks will be easier to implement than for others. If your case is related to one of those people who has more difficulty in dealing with the pain and discomfort of training and gives up constantly then the best option may be to hire a properly qualified Personal Trainer to help in the whole process.
Get a strong mind and your body will have no limits!
