Some of RM Trainer's clients also suffer from this pathology, so we could not fail to address this issue and offer some advice.

We can consider Arterial Hypertension as being determined by high levels of blood pressure in the arteries, which means that the heart has to exert a greater effort than normal to circulate the blood through the blood vessels.

Normal pressure at rest is between 100 and 140 mmHg for systolic and between 60 and 90 mmHg for diastolic. Currently, systolic pressure level greater than 140 mmHg or diastolic pressure greater than 90 mmHg indicate “high blood pressure”.

Although there is some influence of hereditary factors (including family members) in raising blood pressure, lifestyle (mainly eating too much salt), stress, being overweight, not exercising and drinking alcohol in excess are the main cause of high blood pressure.

Physical exercise can help a lot to control hypertension and even lower the values to a normal state.

Before starting physical activity, it is ideal to do an exercise test, especially if you have other associated cardiovascular risk factors.

Medical supervision during exercise sessions will not be necessary, unless the hypertensive person has a heart disease. But if you are accompanied by a Personal Trainer, you will certainly develop a more efficient, complete work and with less risk to your health.

In general terms, the recommended exercise for hypertensive patients is mainly aerobic exercise, performed 3-5 times a week, lasting 1 hour.

It is always advisable to carry out a physical assessment in order to effectively determine which exercises should be worked on reliably and which ones should be avoided.

The benefits of physical activity in controlling blood pressure are due to several direct and indirect factors in the body, such as cardiovascular changes, endocrine and metabolic changes, body composition, behaviors (decreased stress and anxiety), etc.

RM Trainer warns, if you are part of this group of hypertensive people, the practice of physical exercise really tends to improve, but it will always be beneficial to look for qualified professionals who can give you guidance on the safest activities to carry out.

Be active but aware and you will more easily control your blood pressure.
