Cryotherapy is a therapeutic technique that consists of applying cold on the spot and which aims to treat inflammation and body pain, reducing symptoms such as swelling and redness, as it promotes vasoconstriction, decreasing local blood flow, decreases cell permeability. and the edema.
Despite being widely used in the treatment and prevention of injuries, cryotherapy can also be performed for aesthetic purposes, through the use of specific devices, fighting localized fat, cellulite and sagging, for example.
About cold water showers, RM Trainer agrees that they really bring numerous benefits and, very recently, proved it in a training with Ricardo Pinhão, based on the Wim Hof Method (a research on the author is strongly recommended) that, in addition to the cold showers and their preparation through breathing techniques can go further with immersion in a bath filled with ice.
